Paulo Alegria (Paulgi), is a Portuguese visual artist living in Viana do Castelo, where he has produced most of his work. After a long journey through graphic design and the music industry he has worked exclusively in photography, documenting how modernity changes traditional values and local sociability. He was in charge of the cinematography for the film Alto do Minho and the author of the books Pilgrims, Lean Culture, Good Devils and Earth Water Wind.

Raul Pereira is the author of several articles in the fields of Portuguese History of Art, Ethnography, and Intangible Heritage. In recent years he has devoted himself to writing, research, and art education. In 2018 he published Dentro de um cesto de Rosas. Vila Franca: celebração e notas, a book about his native land. He has collaborated regularly with Paulo Alegria, including the ethnopoetic text that forms part of Pilgrims.
